Now that you’re moving to remote learning, talk to us about helping staff members:

EDUCATION

With continued vigilance and the likelihood for additional restrictions and possible school closures Isometric has begun implementing our business continuity plans. Here at Isometric we are in a position where we are able to fully function with our team spread out and isolated. This will mean no reduction in the support you receive, but possibly a change in how you access it.

We plan for situations such as these and we want you to know that Isometric is here for you at this time.  We will continue to update you with more information as we have it.

Our recommendation is that you engage with your community now to identify areas of potential need in relation to the coronavirus outbreak and distance based learning.

Key considerations:

1. Is a suitable Internet connection available for students and teachers to work remotely?

2. Do your students have access to a device to access distance based resources?

3. To fully participate is a webcam and microphone available?

A lack of access to a device or home doesn’t necessarily  mean the student would not be able to join the remote classrooms. Please give consideration to the resources you have in the school. Is there an option for students with no device to take a school device home during this period. Self-Isolation,  doesn’t mean total isolation, does the student have relatives or friends nearby that they can go to and join the class from there?

What we’re doing:

The team at Isometric are proactively enabling additional services that are available to your school in preparation for a possible need for distance based learning.

Google G Suite for Education

Google has made available the full version of Google Hangouts Meet to all Google Education customers until 1st July 2020. This has a number of advantages over the standard version:

1. Ability to record meetings / sessions

2. Livestream to up to 100k people and have 250 people in the Hangout

3. Live caption creation

When used with Google Classroom you will be able to carry out distance based learning, have the resources available for reference and the teacher video recorded.

Microsoft Office 365

Microsoft Teams will allow you to provide distance based teaching to your students. It already has the ability to record the sessions and live steam the session to the members.

When used with Microsoft Classroom you will be able to carry out distance based learning, have the resources available for reference and the teacher video recorded if desired.

Support for Staff

In the event of a school closure we will enable your staff to be able to access the Isometric support team directly, through phone, online chat and email. This can be used by the staff if they’ve questions on running their lessons online or just being able to access some work or resources while away from school.
